Clinical Significance

Tree Nut Allergy Panel with Reflex to Components - This panel tests for specific IgE antibodies to 9 nuts that are commonly associated with allergies. The corresponding allergen component panel will be performed if IgE result for Brazil nuts, cashew nuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, or walnuts is positive. Allergen-specific serum IgE testing is considered comparable to skin testing and may be preferred in some clinical situations.
