Clinical Significance

Childhood Allergy (Food and Environmental) Panel with Reflexes - Up to 90 percent of children with asthma have underlying allergies that trigger their asthma.1,2 Many things like environmental and food elements can trigger allergic reactions in children. Specific IgE serological tests aid in the diagnosis of allergic disease. In this profile, when a whole allergen protein extract is found to be positive, the respective component panel, which uses individual recombinant or purified proteins, is automatically run. Component panels improve specificity, provide the clinician with more detailed information for assessing level of risk, and help target effective management.
