Clinical Significance
Miller Fisher Syndrome, Cranial Neuropathy Antibody Panel (Ganglioside) - Ganglioside GM-1 IgG antibody is associated with acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy and acute motor axonal neuropathy. GD1a IgG antibody may also be associated with acute motor axonal neuropathy. GD1b IgG antibody may be associated with acute motor and sensory axonal neuropathy with cerebellar ataxia or ataxic presentations of Guillain-Barré Syndrome. GQ1b IgG antibody is associated with the Miller-Fisher Syndrome.
