Clinical Significance
PTH, Intact and Calcium - The assay is useful in making the diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism, secondary hyperparathyroidism, and a differential diagnosis of hypercalcemia. The assay helps in distinguishing hypercalcemia cause by either primary hyperparathyroidism or malignant disease.
