Drug Monitoring, Amphetamines, with D/L, Quantitative, Urine - Methamphetamine has two isomers, d-methamphetamine (dextromethamphetamine) and l-methamphetamine (levomethamphetamine). d-methamphetamine is most often illicitly manufactured and is considered a drug of abuse (Crystal meth, etc.). It is approved as a treatment for ADHD and obesity, although its use is very limited. l-methamphetamine is used in certain nonprescription inhalers as a decongestant. This test is a definitive assay using a gas chromatography mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) method of analysis.
