Clinical Significance

IA-2 Antibody - Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus is characterized by lymphocytic cell infiltration of the beta-cells of pancreatic islets. Measurement of IA-2, GAD-65, ICA-512, and Insulin Antibody is a highly sensitive means to assess risk and predict onset of Type I diabetes.
