Clinical significance

SurePath™ Pap and HPV mRNA E6/E7 - Liquid-based Pap Testing is intended for use in the screening and detection of cervical cancer, pre-cancerous lesions, atypical cells and all other cytologic categories as defined by The Bethesda System for Reporting Results of Cervical Cytology. Pap screening is not reliable for the detection of endometrial cancer. HPV DNA testing in conjunction with a Pap test in women 30 years and older can be used adjunctively to assess the presence or absence of high-risk HPV types. This information, together with the physician's assessment of cytology history, other risk factors, and professional guidelines, may be used to guide patient management.…
