Reverse Algorithm for Serologic Diagnosis of Syphilis

This algorithm provides information about the serologic diagnosis of syphilis using the reverse algorithm.

Syphilis Antibody Cascading Reflex (Reverse Algorithm)

This test is used to aid in the diagnosis of syphilis using the reverse algorithm. The algorithm starts with the Treponema pallidum Antibody immunoassay, a treponemal serologic test. If positive, samples will be further tested using RPR, a nontreponemal (lipoidal antigen) serologic test, and if reactive will reflex to titer. T. Pallidum positive samples that do not confirm with RPR will be tested by a second treponemal test, Treponema Pallidum Particle Aggluctination (TP-PA).
